Flower Collage
By: Allison Tierney
Artists from all over the world have been inspired by flowers throughout history. Why do you think this is true? Perhaps it is their vibrant colors? The way they make us feel when we look at them? The fact that they come in so many different shapes and colors? Can you make a list of all of the reasons why you love flowers?
Here are a few examples of famous artworks featuring flowers

Let's start by creating the vase. I drew out the shape I wanted first to use a reference. It's okay if yours doesn't end up exactly like the one you drew. I like to lay out all of the components and then glue once I know I like where things are. Go ahead and cut out all of the shapes for your vase and then glue them down once you like it. Yours can be as simple or decorative as you want.
Awesome! Now it's time to add the flowers. Try to include all different shapes and sizes. I made some flowers where each piece was it's cut out shape and some where I cut out the flower as one big shape. I tried to make sure to overlap some of my flowers it looked like some where behind or in front of others. Don't forget leaves or stems if you want. I also added in a table top and background at the very end.
Happy collage-ing!
